We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted as finalists in the All Ireland Marketing Awards 2018 Gradam Margaíochta le Gaeilge! for our use of the Irish language throughout the centre.
The All Ireland Marketing Awards programme, organised by The Marketing Institute of Ireland, is the nation’s premier means of recognising the success of Irish marketing professionals and acknowledging their major contribution to the ongoing process of strengthening the economy of our island.
The Eyre Square Centre have worked with Gaillimh le Gaeilge over the past number of years to bring ‘Ghaeilge’ to life in the centre and create a unique selling point for the centre in Ireland’s Bilingual City.
The majority of signage throughout the Centre is bilingual, our adverts, website and Facebook all incorporate the Irish language as does each event held in the Centre. In the past year, customers are greeted with a ‘Fáilte’ as well as new bilingual signage in the recently Re-developed main entrance where you can also see the Irish version of our logo.
The Irish language can also be heard on the PA system and is a feature of the children’s play area -Tír na nÓg.
We have sought to influence the tenants in the shopping Centre which has resulted in well-known and local brands such as DIESEL, Regatta, Maple Moose, Funky Donuts, David Martins, Penney’s and XL embrace the Irish language in their stores. It is now part of our policy to encourage new businesses locating in the centre to use ‘Ghaeilge’ and thus creating a truly unique shopping experience. Our aim was and continues to have more Tenant participation, and to impresses on them that the Irish language is an irreplaceable element of the city’s identity.
We are now invited to make a presentation to the adjudication panel at The Marketing Institute, at which point a winner will be chosen, and revealed at the Awards Gala Dinner in the Clayton Hotel Dublin in May of this year.
